As appeared in The Coaster, July 26, 2026 Edition: The Educational Development Committee of the Monmouth County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. brought stories to Hope Academy Charter School in Asbury Park. Educational Development Chair Rona McCoy (above) recently read “The Child’s Courage” by Ada-Ari to first-graders. Every student received their own copy to enjoy over the summer, while all kindergarten and first-grade classrooms were gifted books for their libraries. “The story was amazing, and the students are already starting to read the books. We truly appreciate Delta for thinking of us,” said Shanna Long, Hope Academy’s Supervisor of Student Services.
